The highlights of SUISA’s 2021 General Meeting:

  • Johanna Gapany was elected to the Board of Directors:  SUISA's voting members elected State Councilor Johanna Gapany (FDP/FR) to the Board. She replaces former State Councillor Géraldine Savary (SP/VD), who had stepped down, for the remainder of the current term of office expiring in 2023. .
  • Adapting the general rules on investment: bthe General Meeting agreed by a large majority that sustainability should be sdded to the selection criteria under the general investment rules. In future, investments should be chosen based not only on their security and marketability but also in terms of sustainability.
  • Approval of 2020 Annual Report: the General Meeting also approved the 2020 Annual Report. During the rather difficult reporting year, SUISA realised a satisfactory result despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The steep fall in performing rights revenues was partially offset in other areas. CHF 120.4m were distributed to creators and publishers of music. Thanks to a favourable cost-coverage deduction of 13.07% on settlements to entitled parties, SUISA will distribute about  CHF 87 for each CHF 100 collected in revenues. What is more, in 2021, a supplementary distribution of 7% will be paid.
