Dance competitions and dance shows

Are you organising a dance competition or show? In this section you will find information about the licences for the corresponding music use.

Licences

The price for a licence is as a rule a percentage of the revenues from your ticket sales. In certain cases, the fee is calculated based on the cost of the use of music (artist's fees, travel and accommodation costs, rent for the venue and PA system).

The percentage rate may not exceed 5% of the ticket revenues or the cost for the authors' rights (rights in the composition) and an additional 1.8% for the performers' and producers' rights if you use music from audiovisual recordings (MP3, CDs, streaming etc.). The rate is reduced if SUISA does not manage the rights to all the works performed – provided you deliver a complete list of works in good time. For more details, please consult the relevant fact sheet and the Tariff (CT K).

How to proceed:

Send us the duly completed questionnaire together with your list of works. We will then issue the licence and invoice. Once your payment is received, we distribute the remuneration to the beneficiary composers, lyricists, and publishers.

Please bear in mind that licence fees are due on background music and music on hold. this also applies to TV retransmissions or performances from audio and audiovisual recordings for general background entertainment. For more information, see: Background music / Music on hold.
