Dance competitions and ballroom dancing

Are you organising a dance competition or ballroom dancing event? In this section you will find information about the licences for music use.

Licence fees

The licence fee equals max 5 % of ticket sales for authors rights (composition rights) plus no more than 1.8 % of the rights of performing artists and producers if sound recordings (MP3, CDs, etc.) are used. This percentage is lower if SUISA does not manage the rights to all the works performed provided you deliver a complete list of works in good time.

By way of exception, the licence fee may be calculated based on the costs for musicians and DJs (artists’ fees, agents’ fees, and travel and accommodation costs), local rent and PA system. For more details, please consult the relevant fact sheet and tariff.

How to proceed

Send us the duly completed questionnaire together with your list of works. We will then issue the licence and invoice. Once your payment is received, we shall distribute the remuneration to the beneficiary composers, lyricists and publishers.
