SUISA mourns the loss of Charles Aznavour, a long-standing member

Last sunday, Franco-Armenian singer-songwriter and SUISA member Charles Aznavour died in his house in Alpilles in the south of France, aged 94.

SUISA mourns the loss of Charles Aznavour, a long-standing member. Born in Paris to Armenian immigrants in 1924, Aznavour started his career as chansonnier in 1946. During his lifetime, he composed and wrote a repertoire of over 800 songs. Charles Aznavour moved to Switzerland in 1976; he was the Armenian Ambassador to Switzerland, and a highly esteemed member of our Society.
