SESAC changes hands: no effect on Mint joint venture

The US performance rights organisation SESAC is changing hands, the company announced today. The change of ownership will have no effect on Mint, the joint venture between SESAC and SUISA.

In a press release issued earlier today, US music rights organisation SESAC announced that it was to be acquired by investment company Blackstone. The organisation was previously owned by Rizvi Traverse Management.

The change of ownership will have no effect on Mint, the planned joint venture between SESAC and SUISA. According to the press release, SESAC’s management team will remain unchanged, and the organisation will continue to pursue its current strategy. One of the cornerstones of this strategy is multi-territorial licensing within the framework of the Mint joint venture.
