Public viewing

For television evenings outside the private sphere and public viewings of sports events or TV broadcasts, we will issue you the appropriate licence.

Licence for screens under 3 metres in diagonal

Provided you are showing the broadcast on a screen or projection surface under 3 metres in diagonal, Common Tariff 3a (CT 3a) applies. If you are a SUISA customer and already have a licence for the use of background music, broadcast reception and/or music on hold for your telephone lines, no action is required on your part. CT 3a also applies to public viewings on screens or surfaces smaller than 3 metres in diagonal.

If you do not play music or retransmit TV broadcasts or films in your business premises and are organising a one-off public viewing, you can apply for the licence here

How to proceed:

Once we have your application, we will issue the invoice for the use. The licence for the use is granted for the invoiced period against prompt payment of the invoice. Once your payment is received, we distribute the remuneration to the beneficiary composers, lyricists, and publishers.

Licence for screens over 3 metres in diagonal

If the screen is larger than 3 metres in diagonal, we will issue you a licence under Common Tariff 3c (CT 3c). The licence fee depends on the size of the screen and the admission fee charged, if any. The flat fee is at least CHF 62.40 per day (without admission fee) or CHF 124.80 (with admission fee), plus VAT.

How to proceed:

Please send us the duly completed questionnaire. We will then issue the licence and invoice. Once your payment is received, we distribute the remuneration to the beneficiary composers, lyricists, and publishers.

Note: Screenings with announcement of a specific film

You are showing a specific film on a fixed date (with or without admission) and would like to announce and advertise the screenings? This requires a licence in accordance with CT E. It makes no difference whether youare screening a broadcast of a TV programme or playing back an audiovisual medium (DVD etc.).
