Brief

SUISA is the cooperative society for composers, lyricists and music publishers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Its 35,000 members represent all musical walks of life. Thanks to agreements concluded with over 100 sister societies worldwide, SUISA represents the world music repertoire of two million authors in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It licenses the use of this world repertoire to over 90,000 customers, including concert organisers, radio broadcasters, record companies as well as hotels and restaurants, for example.

SUISA employs a staff of 200 in its offices in Zurich, Lausanne and Lugano, and realises an annual turnover of more than CHF 150 million. As a not-for-profit organisation, SUISA distributes its licensing revenues, net of administrative costs, to music authors and publishers.

SUISA represents the («small») rights to non-theatrical musical works, concert versions of theatrical works and musical works in feature and television films. The «Grand Rights» in stage works such as operas and musicals are represented by SSA - Société Suisse des Auteurs.
