Common Tariff 4

The storage capacity is the recording time. This is calculated to the minute. The reference base is the recording time indicated on the recording media provided it is not over-stepped by more than 5 minutes (in which case the actual recording time applies).


The fee per hour of recording time is:

  • for blank recordable sound carriers CHF 0.33
  • for blank recordable sound and video carriers CHF 0.46


The fees do not include VAT, if any, which is payable additionally at the applicable rate.
Tariff rates for CD-R/RW data
The fee is equal to:

  • per 525 MB storage capacity or per hour of recording time CHF 0. 05


The fee is calculated for exactly 10MB. The reference base is the storage capacity indicated on the recording media provided it is not over-stepped by more than 10MB (in which case the actual capacity applies).

The fees do not include VAT, if any, which is payable additionally at the applicable rate.

Tariff rates for recordable DVDs


For normal DVDs, the fee is:

  • for blank recordable-once DVDs CHF 0.31
  • for blank rewritable DVDs CHF 0.88


These rates apply per blank carrier with a reference recording capacity of 4.7 GB. For carriers with higher or lower recording capacity, the rate is adjusted proportionally.

For recordable High Definition DVDs, the fee is:

  • for blank recordable-once HD-DVDs CHF 0.33
  • for blank rewritable HD-DVDs CHF 0.93


These rates apply to all blank carriers suitable for recording content protected by copyright or neighbouring rights in High Definition quality, in particular for Blu-Ray Discs, and are calculated per blank recordable carrier with a reference storage capacity of 25 GB. For recording media with higher or lower storage capacity, the rate is adjusted proportionally.

The fees do not include VAT, if any, which is payable additionally at the applicable rate.

After import/delivery 

Manufacturers and importers are required to provide SUISA all requisite invoicing information including, in particular, the following indications broken down per category or format of recording media subject to remuneration:
 

  • the number of produced or imported blank carriers with the relevant storage capacity;
  • the number of exported carriers, and the relevant storage capacity, together with a copy of the relevant customs documents;
  • the number of blank carriers which can be demonstrated to have been licensed by the producer or importer or by another party for purposes other than private copying, with the relevant storage capacity, together with copies of the delivery vouchers and other supporting documents.

Unless otherwise agreed, such data and documents must be communicated on a monthly basis, no later than 20 days after the end of each month.

 

Invoicing procedure 

 
After receiving the declaration form, SUISA prepares the invoice based on the blank carrier movements subject to remuneration in the declaration period.
