«Nostalgic» music, 1925-1975
The history of Swiss music is also a history of good light concert music. For the first time, a well-documented history of the country’s light music has been produced in a boxed set of four CDs. This anthology of musical gems from 1925 to 1975, entitled «Swiss Light Music» is a production of the SUISA Foundation for Music.
Since 1991, the SUISA Foundation for Music has been publishing at regular intervals a series of recordings representing all types of Swiss musical creations. This new anthology is a representative sample of light music from 1925 to 1975 selected from a rich and extremely comprehensive collection of archives which served as a basis for a working group headed by the composer and orchestra conductor Reto Parolari.
This unique production was made possible thanks to the generous support of the SRG SSR idée suisse (Swiss national broadcasting company), the music label Urban Note, and our partners Adcom, Disques Office and SUISA. «Swiss Light Music» will be presented on the occasion of the 17th International Light Music Festival in Winterthur on October 15th 2008. It will then be available at specialised shops or directly from the SUISA Foundation for Music.
The required number of copies (boxed set of 4 CDs) may be ordered by means of the form below. The price is CHF 69.- per copy (CHF 59.- for SUISA members – please indicate by ticking the appropriate box). Mailing fees will be added. Invoice and delivery services are provide by our distributor Disques Office.
