Production of sound and video carriers for broadcasting and performance purposes or for making available online (also referred to as “broadcasting copies”)

If you:

• want to add music to a film or a commercial;
• want to produce a corporate film with a musical score;
• want to add music to a website with animated images;
• want to set an audiovisual show (slide show) to music;
• or want to add a musical background to your PowerPoint presentation;

then Tariff VN applies to you.

Exception: sound and video carriers made exclusively for private use (e.g. a film of a relative’s wedding or your last holiday) do not have to be declared to SUISA. However, this exception applies only to the narrowly-defined private sphere; a company’s staff members or the members of a sports club or a cultural association no longer qualify as belonging to “the family circle”.
